In 2005 Our Island Club kicks off its discount program to offer year-round Island residents substantial savings at hundreds of Island Businesses while donating a percentage of all proceeds to Island charities.

In 2019 Buy Local kicks off as the main focus and mission of the club.  Buy Local still includes the membership discount program for year-round Island residents and now offers more opportunities for  businesses and organizations to participate in growing and maintaining a strong and vibrant Island economy.

We provide hundreds of free memberships to residents of Island Elderly Housing, Dukes County Regional Housing , MVRHS Students, and clients of Vineyard Healthcare Access, The Food Pantry, Serving Hands and The Red Stocking Fund .

Buy Local Island Club scholarships are awarded to Martha's Vineyard Regional High School or Martha's Vineyard Charter School seniors pursuing a four year college degree program.  The scholarship is awarded first, based on financial need and second, based on academic performance.  Preference is given to students with a cumulative grade point average 2.0 or better.  Our scholarship program is managed through The Permanent Endowment of Martha's Vineyard.
